How should HS2 be designed and built north of Leeds and Manchester? Greengauge 21 surveyed local authorities and business groups in the north of England to get an insight into views on HSR in the ‘northern gap’ between Leeds/Manchester and the Scottish border.
This report puts forward a set of suggested planning objectives for HSR in the north of England and also summarises the results of the survey. Nearly 90% of respondents consider it important or very important that HS2 be extended north to Scotland.
